Professionally

I once saw the essence of user experience design play out right in front of my eyes in a story so illustrative it had to be shared. I was standing in the dinner line at a retreat, and the line ahead of me split into two branches on either side of a central counter containing the meal. At the end of the counter were two rectangular dishes of pudding, which were arranged so that chocolate faced one line while (vile, loathsome) banana faced my line. Hungry guests were getting pudding all over their arms (and their tacos!) as they reached across, or were having to settle for a pudding they didn’t like simply because it was the available one. When I reach that point in the line, I simply turned the pudding dishes 90 degrees so that one side of each dish faced each line. Pudding for everyone! That’s the core of UX design: where you once had a pudding-covered arm and a nasty dessert, now you have the right options easily accessible. Hassle free. Elegant. Easy-as-pie. Err, pudding.

My passion and mission is to earn a place on your team and dig into your software, brand, or idea and figure out how to make it come to life simply, elegantly, and with your own unique flair. I’m your dream's personal strategist, ready to help you put your best ideas into action in a way that produces more delight and satisfaction than even a great chocolate pudding.

Personally

I am a transplanted Texan living in the breathtakingly beautiful desert of Tucson, Arizona. I have a taste for adventure and love to hike, rock climb, and camp. However, don't ask me to go snorkeling with you - tiny fish popping out of a reef are apparently too much adventure for me! I have recently discovered that I'm at my best when I'm challenging myself to learn something new. After learning to bake bread, do basic electrical wiring, navigate the Hong Kong subway system, fly trapeze, and two-step, I'm now training to get my private pilot certificate!
